The Detroit Chapter of SABR was re-established in 2007 by a small core group dedicated to the creation of an active chapter involved in publicizing and preserving the rich baseball history of Detroit. In particular, one of the goals of the chapter is to promote greater understanding of the role of race and integration both in Detroit and throughout the whole of organized baseball.
