Last week, the SABR board of directors approved merging the Detroit and West Michigan/Wally Pipp Chapters to form a new Southern Michigan Chapter. Because the Detroit Chapter absorbed the former Southeast Michigan/Don Lund Chapter several years ago, the Southern Michigan Chapter becomes the only active SABR Chapter in Michigan.
Nathan Bierma, VP of the West Michigan Chapter, will serve as the new Southern Michigan Chapter president.
Craig Greenham will serve as the new chapter vice president.
Gary Gillette, founder and chair of the Detroit Chapter, will serve as the new chapter chair.
Rogelio Castillo will serve as Digital Director.
Mitch Lutzke and Dan D’Addona will serve on the chapter board of advisors.
The Southern Michigan Chapter’s first event will be held online on SABR Day 2021, January 30, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
